This repository is made available as a source-available research, technical-review, and public-policy analysis package. It is not released as open-source software. Access to the repository, cloning, forking, downloading, installing, or viewing the source code does not grant any rights except those expressly stated here.

## 1. Permitted Noncommercial Academic and Public-Interest Use

Subject to the conditions below, KNOWDYN grants permission to inspect, clone, download, run, test, modify, and cite this software solely for noncommercial academic, educational, technical-review, reproducibility, public-interest, and public-policy analysis purposes.

Permitted uses include:

- academic research and teaching;
- noncommercial policy analysis;
- independent technical review;
- reproducibility testing;
- noncommercial scenario simulation;
- preparation of noncommercial charts, notebooks, reports, or articles that clearly identify the package as a scenario-dependent analytical model.

## 2. Conditions of Use

Any permitted use must preserve the following notices and safeguards:

- copyright and attribution notices;
- this Academic License;
- the separate Commercial License notice;
- source-available status notices;
- non-affiliation notices;
- restricted-source and confidential-source exclusion notices;
- evidence-status, assumption-boundary, and scenario-dependence statements;
- notices stating that outputs are analytical estimates and not verified Terafab operating facts.

Users must not present model outputs as verified facts, official Terafab data, engineering certification, legal advice, investment advice, procurement advice, permitting advice, or operational guidance.

Users must not imply that KNOWDYN, Terafab, Tesla, SpaceX, xAI, Intel, or any other named external entity endorses, certifies, sponsors, authorizes, or validates any use, output, derivative work, report, or conclusion unless that endorsement is separately given in writing by the relevant entity.

## 3. Prohibited Uses Under This Academic License

This Academic License does not grant rights for commercial use.

The following uses are prohibited unless covered by a separate written commercial license from KNOWDYN:

- paid consulting, advisory, or research delivery;
- enterprise internal deployment;
- use in procurement, permitting, financing, investment, site-selection, market-intelligence, or commercial due-diligence workflows;
- integration into commercial software, dashboards, data products, hosted systems, APIs, or decision platforms;
- resale, sublicensing, relicensing, or redistribution for commercial advantage;
- use as part of a paid report, client deliverable, commercial presentation, subscription product, or commercial training product;
- use to support commercial strategy, valuation, acquisition, financing, lobbying, insurance, infrastructure planning, or regulatory submissions;
- operation of the software as a hosted service, managed service, or software-as-a-service product;
- removal, weakening, or circumvention of attribution, non-affiliation, restricted-source, evidence-status, or assumption-boundary notices.

## 4. Derivative Works

Noncommercial academic derivative works are permitted only for the purposes allowed by this license. Derivative works must preserve the notices listed above and must clearly state that they are modified versions or independent analyses derived from the KNOWDYN Terafab Decision Twin package.

No derivative work may be relicensed in a way that grants commercial rights, removes attribution obligations, or presents the repository as open-source software.

## 5. Restricted and Confidential Sources

This repository does not include restricted, confidential, private, proprietary, or unpublished project-source material unless such material is expressly included in the public repository by KNOWDYN.

No license is granted to any restricted or confidential source material. Users must not attempt to reconstruct, infer, solicit, scrape, import, or inject restricted project-source material into the public package unless they have independent written authorization to do so.

## 6. No Affiliation and No Official Terafab Status

This repository is an independent KNOWDYN work. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, authorized by, sponsored by, or connected to Terafab or its employees unless expressly stated in writing by the relevant official entity.

References to Terafab, Tesla, SpaceX, xAI, Intel, or any other organization are for analytical, descriptive, or scenario-context purposes only. They do not imply access to verified internal data, official project participation, or endorsement.

## 7. No Warranty and No Reliance

The software and documentation are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, or reliability.

Outputs are scenario-dependent analytical estimates derived from assumptions, model structure, and available public or user-supplied inputs. They must not be relied upon as verified operating facts, engineering certifications, investment recommendations, legal conclusions, procurement instructions, permitting determinations, or public-agency findings.

Users are responsible for independently validating assumptions, data, methods, and conclusions before relying on any result.

## 8. Commercial Rights

Commercial rights are not granted by this Academic License.
